ban on sky lanterns being launched from Town Council properties
in Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge looks set to be introduced following
a debate this week.

amid safety and environmental concerns.
Clerk Tatiana Cant told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This would mainly
affect the Town Councils three cemeteries in Burnham and Highbridge,
although we are hoping that Sedgemoor District Council will also
put a similar ban in place to cover areas where balloon/lantern
releases are most likely, such as the beach, Apex Park, Manor Gardens
and Marine Cove."
