Snow coming to Burnham-On-Sea area on Tuesday, says Met Office

The Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge area could be set to see a few flakes of snow during this morning (Tuesday), predicts the Met Office.

Light snow is forecast for our area between 9am and mid-day but is unlikely to amount to much on the ground, it predicts.

Temperatures in the Burnham-On-Sea area fall to below freezing overnight and will not rise above 3C on Tuesday.

The Met Office has warned of icy patches on roads and pavements - and gritting lorries are due to salt main roads.

"It's going to be a cold week. Plenty of dry weather around, but many places will probably see some snow at some point - for a lot of us not really amounting to much at all," Met Office forecaster Craig Snell said.

"Quite a lot of the UK will see some snow as we head through Tuesday, but as it ventures into the Midlands, south-west England and eventually later in the day across south-east England, it's just going to be a few flakes," Mr Snell said. "Don't expect to build a snowman."

The cold snap is expected to last until the weekend, with milder weather on the way the following week.
