Vote for Burnham’s Marine Cove and Highbridge’s Apex Park as UK’s favourite parks

-

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge residents are being encouraged to vote for the town’s Marine Cove Gardens and Apex Park to become the UK’s favourite parks of the year.

Last year, Keep Britain Tidy awarded Green Flag Awards to both Marine Cove and Apex Park, and now residents can have their say in a different national vote.

A spokeswoman from Sedgemoor District Council, which maintains the parks, explained: “Members of the public are invited to nominate the parks as part of the awards to pick the UK’s Best Park of 2019.”

“It is a two-phased award where residents are firstly encouraged to nominate their favourite local parks.”

“All you need to do is say why the park is special to you and upload a photograph that you’ve taken of in it.”

You can nominate Apex Park or Marine Cove simply by visiting www.fieldsintrust.org/best-park. The closing date is Monday 1st July, 2019. All eligible nominated parks then progress to a public vote to find the winner.
