An afternoon of great weather attracted bumper crowds to Brent Knoll on Saturday (June 9th) for a line-up of summer entertainment and fun.

The village’s popular summer fete had a pirate theme this year, giving visitors and organisers plenty of scope for dressing up.

Several of the stalls set up around the village green were also decorated with the colourful theme in mind.

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Mayor Bill Hancock and Mayoress Frances Hancock were given the honour of opening the event.

There were plenty of activities for all ages, including entertainment from the Brent Knoll School dancers, Burnham-On-Sea’s King Alfred School Band, and the Chalice Morris Men.

There were also cakes, a barbecue, cider, a Pimms stall, books, flowers, plants and a tombola plus raffles and a baking contest.
