Spectators at Monday’s 2019 Burnham-On-Sea Carnival have chosen Gremlins Carnival Club’s entry as the winner of the People’s Choice award.
The Bridgwater club’s incredible cart, ‘Curse of the Kraken’, featured a mass of movement and colour, complete with atmospheric music and bursts of flames.
Spectators were able to vote for their choice of favourite carts in the 24 hours after he procession using a mobile phone app, as Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here.
“We had over 1,000 votes via the app and the winner was Gremlins, followed by favourites such as Marketeers was second and Masqueraders was third. Burnham’s Hillview Carnival Club was the winner for People’s Choice in their category,” said Brad Loveridge, Burnham Carnival Chief Marshall Brad Loveridge.
The judges awarded it the top spot for ‘best entry in the entire procession’ and also the ‘best feature’.
Over 70 entries paraded through the town in a dazzling cavalcade of colour and excitement, watched by big crowds along the route despite showers of rain.
