Burnham fundraisers to walk 121 miles to Grenfell to raise funds for victims

-

A group of Burnham-On-Sea fundraisers are walking 121 miles from Bristol to Grenfell in London in June to arrive in time for the second anniversary of the Grenfell disaster and raise money and boost support for victims.

The group – who all work for LiveWest Homes Ltd – will be completing the walk in relays over four days from 11-14th June.

Kelly Boden: “We have organised the walk ourselves to raise money for Grenfell after watching a documentary on it last year.”

“We are walking with a group of 11 colleagues and as we all work in social housing it is a subject that is very close to our hearts.”

“As well as raising money for the Grenfell Foundation, we are also raising money for Help Bristol’s Homeless, as we thought about what charities would be involved if a similar tragedy happened in our region.”

“Working out the logistics, planning the route, places to stop over & support vehicles etc has been challenging but we are all set ready for June now.”

The 121 mile route will start from College Green in Bristol at 8:30am on 11th June and the group aims to arrive at Grenfell on the afternoon of 14th June.

“Fundraising is going really well and in just a month since opening our sponsorship page we have managed to raise over £1,300. Any donations very gratefully received through our go fund me page here.”
