The team at Burnham-On-Sea greengrocer and deli shop Gardiner Whites are celebrating this week after winning the title of Somerset’s Independent Retailer of the Year.
Rich and Jax Gardiner-White, who run the popular High Street shop, attended the Somerset Life Food & Drink Awards on Thursday where they learned the good news.
Talking to Burnham-On-Sea.com, Rich said: “This is a very big award for us – we were finalists at last year’s awards in the category of ‘best newcomer’, but to come back and win this is fantastic.”
“We were absolutely in shock and blown away! We have only been open a couple of years so we are still trying to take it all in.”
“It was a really proud moment when we heard that we had won! It’s great recognition for all the work by our team.”
“We take pride in offering great produce and customer service and it’s wonderful that has been noticed.”
