Two cars rescued from mud on busy day for beach wardens

-

Two stranded vehicles were rescued from beach mudflats at Brean and Berrow on Sunday afternoon (August 8th).

Beach wardens were called to help the stricken Range Rover pictured here after its wheels sank into the soft sand and mud on Berrow beach when its driver drove out too far.

Beach warden Pete Williams told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Local farmer Richard Bigwood used a winch and trailer to pull the Range Rover – which was brand new – out of the mud in return for a fee from the vehicle owner.”

Pete added: “It was a busy day for us – a Ford Fiesta also got stuck on Brean and several helpful people on the beach managed to gained access to it through the sunroof and then drive it up the beach before any damage could be done.”
