Burnham-On-Sea’s Coastguard station is seeking new volunteers to join its team.

New recruits are being sought to join the team to carry out mud rescues, cliff rescues, search for missing persons, water rescues, medical evacuations and other incidents.

“If you are interested in joining any of our teams, then register for your information and application pack by emailing area12@mcga.gov.uk and let us know what team you are interested in joining,” says a spokesman.

You must be over 18, have a full UK driver’s licence and pass a medical check. All equipment and PPE is supplied.

“All applications must be in by Thursday 1st November.”

“We co-ordinate and carry out rescues along our coastline, you will be part of our volunteer rescue teams, training on a weekly basis and paged to callouts when the need arises.”
