Members of Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club are celebrating this week after getting their carnival season off to a great start.

The club’s cowboy-themed cart, called ‘Yee Ha!”, features colourful western decorations and was a hit at the Bridgwater Carnival and Burnham-On-Sea Carnival where it achieved second places at both carnivals in the ‘juvenile’ category.

Lee Baker, the club’s group captain, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are very pleased with how it’s going – everyone had a super evening at Burnham and in Bridgwater. We thank everyone for their wonderful support.”

The club’s Lyn Burland told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s been a great team effort again this year.”

The club has nineteen young members performing on the cart, several of whom are taking part for the first time.

She added that the club thanks Burnham Waste, Mr and Mrs Rickard, The Oaktree, the Lighthouse Pub, Morley Tibbs and Jays Transport for their support.
