Double Olympic gold medalist James Cracknell make a special visit to Burnham-On-Sea on Saturday (November 23rd) when he visited the town’s rescue hovercrafts and met traders in the High Street.

James Cracknell OBE, a British rowing champion, made the visit with parliamentary hopeful James Heappey.

The duo met crew at the seafront BARB station and joined a hovercraft training session to see the charity’s work up close.

They also chatted with shoppers in the town centre before visiting several High Street traders.

Mr Cracknell, who is standing as a candidate for the South West in next year’s European Parliamentary elections, said: “It was great to visit Burnham and meet some of the people here. I’m grateful for BARB showing me some of the amazing work they do along the coastline here.”
