A group of jazz enthusiasts from the Burnham-On-Sea area has presented a bumper cheque to a local good cause.
The BD Jazz group have raised over £1,000 for the charity over the past year and presented this to SURE, the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy Equipment, a local cancer charity, at their regular meeting in West Huntspill’s Laburnham House.
In addition to this, because the BD Jazz club did not hold their annual ball this year, Tony and Sheila Maundrell had taken it upon themselves to hold a separate Autumn ball, raising £2,258 for SURE, taking the total to £3,258.
SURE has widespread support among local hospitals and donations come regularly from supporters throughout Somerset to help the work.
