Local running club members rally round to help Burnham and Highbridge Foodbank

-

Members of a local running club have rallied round to help Burnham and Highbridge Foodbank with supplies this Easter.

Highbridge Ladies Running Club, which has over 25 members, has this week handed over several boxes full of food and drink for needy local people struggling over the holiday period.

Emma Wood explained that the ladies wanted to help the group and each donated items which were handed over to the Foodbank in Burnham’s College Street this week.

Burnham-On-Sea Food bank helper Alun Davies told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The Foodbank continues to be very busy with lots of demand, so this donation is gratefully accepted and we thank the ladies for their support.”

The friendly running club meets on Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm mostly from Apex in Highbridge. You need to already be able to run 5km to join our main session, which comes with a one off £10 joining fee. Sessions are booking only with a charge of just £1 each.
