Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards search for missing fisherman

-

Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards launched a search for a missing fisherman on Sunday evening (October 24th).

A team of nine Burnham Coastguards was called out at 4.15pm to scour the coastline between West Huntspill and Brean for the man, aged in his 40s.

Station officer Steve Bird told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The man had been reported missing and there was some concern for his welfare.”

“We searched the river banks and beach between the Huntspill Sluice and Brean Down, in addition to car parks, but found no trace of him.”

After several hours searching, police scaled down the search when he was understood to have been found safe and well. The search also involved other Coastguard teams in the region.
