Scores of lightning strikes lit up the night sky over Burnham-On-Sea overnight as stormy weather swept through the area.
Loud crashes of thunder, accompanied by lightning and torrential rain, led to a disturbed night for residents.
This map above shows the large number of lightning strikes that hit the Burnham-On-Sea area over a six hour period overnight to 2.30am.
The storms also left power cuts for some residents in the Burnham area, according to Western Power Distribution.
The Burnham-On-Sea weather forecast shows further stormy conditions are likely over the coming days.
