Over 200 entries make Burnham's Spring
Show blooming wonderful!

A
group of green-fingered Burnham-On-Sea residents was celebrating
on Saturday (March 11th) after winning trophies at the town's
Spring horticultural show.
More
than 200 entries were submitted at the annual Horticultural Society
Spring Show, which features gardening, cookery, floral art and
photography.
Les
Wallis, Society Treasurer, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "The
number of entries was down on last year, but the quality was excellent.
A
great deal of dedication has been put in by people."
And
Monica Huntley, Acting President, added: "It's been a long
winter and many entrants would probably have benefited from have
an extra week. Very
little is out in the gardens yet, but we've still seen a high
standard of entries from indoor growers."
Trophies
were awarded to F Wynn (most points), F Wynn and A Pearce (best
exhibit), A Purnell (David Sass trophy), Catriona Newman (Photography
Cup), F Wynn and A Pearce (Havage Cup), Mrs H Bryant (Joan Sass
Cup), L Earl, F Wynn, M Huntley and Sarah White (1993 Cup), Joan
White (Huntley Cup), B Whetstone (Floral Art Cup) and L Earl (Society
Cup).
