Burnham-On-Sea
motorist lobbies Tony Blair for tougher fines on vandals
An
angry Burnham-On-Sea motorist has written to Prime Minister Tony
Blair demanding stiffer sentences for vandals who commit so-called
'petty' crimes.
Dee
Emery, pictured, contacted Downing Street after her family's car
was damaged in a Burnham street.
The
wing mirrors of several vehicles along Abingdon Street were damaged
in an overnight attack, but the man responsible has been handed
what Mrs Emery brands a "ludicrously low fine" of less
than £50.
She
told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "People who commit stupid offences
like this should be properly punished to ensure they're not tempted
to do the same thing again."
"The
law is too soft. I want to see some changes, which is why I've
written directly to our Prime Minister."
