Tributes
for Burnham-On-Sea teenager who was killed in crash

Tributes
have this week been paid to Nathan Edwards, the Burnham-On-Sea
teenager who was killed in an horrific car accident near Bristol
last Tuesday.
Nathan,
17, was killed in a crash at Long Ashton, near Bristol, on November
20th.
The
former King Alfred School student was a talented tennis player
and a member of Burnham's Avenue Tennis Club who had won several
top tournaments in the county.
Club
coach James Tuckett told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Nathan was
a very popular lad - this has hit everyone hard."
"He
played in the men's first team at the club and won various tournaments
- too many to mention. Nathan won the Somerset Seniors Closed
Tournament at age 17 in August."
"The
following week we held our Juniors Tournament where he was named
best Avenue junior player for the whole week."
"When
Nathan was not on court here he would be training in Burnham or
at Clevedon. He was very dedicated and always had a smile on his
face. He was a fun-loving character."
Local
residents and friends of Nathan have been posting messages of
sympathy on Burnham's discussion forums here.
Nathan
was travelling in a Peugeot when it collided with a Land Rover
at a crossroads on the B3128 at its junction with Providence Lane
(pictured).
Police
have renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward following
the accident at 6.18pm.
"The
Peugeot was travelling in the direction of Longwood Lane towards
Providence Lane when it was in collision with a Land Rover at
the crossroads. The Land Rover was travelling along the B3128
at Long Ashton towards Clevedon," said police spokesman Dan
Mountain.
"Nathan
was pronounced dead at the scene. A
10-year-old boy who was the rear seat passenger in the Peugeot
and is not related to the dead man - was seriously injured
and taken to Frenchay Hospital."
The
woman driver of the Peugeot, who is understood to be Nathan's
mother, was taken to the BRI. Two people, who were travelling
in the Range Rover, were also taken to the BRI with minor injuries.
The
police's Road Policing Unit has asked for witnesses to the incident
to contact them on 0845 4567000.
