Burnham-On-Sea
pub re-opens this weekend after revamp
A
Burnham-On-Sea pub will re-open on Friday night (March 30th) following
a three-month revamp.
The
Old Pier Tavern in Pier Street has spent thousands of pounds on
redecorating its interior and outside facia.
New
landlord Jamei Roberts, who was the drummer with 1960s band Mungo
Jerry, plans to turn the pub into Burnham's leading live music
venue.
Jamei's
daughter, Dusica, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We plan to have
lots of great bands playing on Friday and Saturday nights plus
jazz on Sundays."
The
pub has a new modern feel inside (pictured) with four bar staff
and three staff in the kitchen, enabling a new menu of home cooked
food to be offered.
Jamei
has over 35 years of experience in the music industry and has
secured two bands at the pub this weekend. Playing on Friday night
will be Bristol-based ska band The Communicators, followed on
Saturday by a ten-piece soul group, The Orphans.
