Burnham-On-Sea
shoe shop short-listed for top online retailing award
Bosses at a Burnham-On-Sea shoe shop are keeping their fingers
crossed after their website was this week short-listed for a top
online retailing award.
Shickles
Shoes in the High Steet launched its website
last year and is in the running for an award in the ‘footwear
e-tailer of the year’ category at the 2007 Drapers footwear
awards.
The
event, to be held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on May 16th,
brings together the UK and Ireland’s footwear industry to
celebrate the best in footwear retailing.
Shickle
Shoes, the company behind ‘footwear4you.co.uk’ is making
a bold debut at this year’s awards ceremony. It set up its
website in May 2006 and in no time was putting a new shine on
a long-standing business.
To
be eligible for this award entrants have to satisfy the judges
not only that their story is one of financial success but also,
and more importantly, from a customer perspective that they offer
great service.
Director
Geoff Shickle told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "I could not be more
amazed or delighted. It was my son who first suggested the idea.
Looking back at all the hard work we had to put in, I admit there
were times though when I blessed him for it – but we’re
reaping the benefits now."
"We’ve
kicked off a whole new business. There’s a real buzz in the
air and everyone is pulling their weight and more – suppliers,
technical support and the great teams we have in the shop and
the office. All of us are thrilled to have been short-listed for
this award. It would mean a lot to win it."
