Motorist charged with drink driving after Berrow accident

A
man was arrested and charged with drink driving after crashing
his vehicle into an electricity pylon in Berrow earlier this week.
Burnham-On-Sea
police rushed to Barton Road, close to the junction with Church
House Road at 12.15am on Saturday (July 26th) after nearby residents
raised the alarm when they heard a loud crash - and then saw the
upturned vehicle pictured here.
Police
spokesman Wayne Baker told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "A vehicle
had been in collision with an electricity pole and overturned."
"Following
police enquiries, a 33-year-old man from Bath was arrested at
a nearby holiday park and taken to Bridgwater Police Station where
he was charged with drink driving, driving while disqualified,
driving with no insurance, and assault."
The
man was detained to appear before Sedgemoor Magistrates. The police
helicopter was also launched to help officers deal with the incident.
