Burnham-On-Sea fire crews battle car blaze which shut A38
A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a
dramatic car fire shut the A38 at Burnham-On-Sea on Monday evening
(September 15th).
Fire
crews battled the fierce blaze at Edithmead, near to the Somerset
Rebels speedway track, prompting police to shut the road at 8.35pm.
Nearby
residents told Burnham-On-Sea.com that three youngsters had been
seen running away from the vehicle, a stolen car, shortly before
it burst into flames.
Police
officers were later seen taking one male away from the scene in
handcuffs, and police
spokesman Steve Game told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Police were
called to the scene at 8.35pm after a stolen vehicle was set alight.
One male was arrested in connection with the incident."
