Burnham-On-Sea
shop faces repair bill after vandals smash window
A
Burnham-On-Sea clothes shop faces a repair bill for hundreds of
pounds after vandals attacked it during the early hours of Saturday
morning (January 26th).
A
large window at the front of New Look in the High Street was smashed,
although bosses say nothing was stolen.
Cindy
Tappill, the shop's Deputy Manager, told Burnham-On-Sea.com that
shocked staff had found the damage when they arrived to open up
the shop on Saturday morning.
"Fortunately,
nothing was stolen. It appears to have been solely vandalism,"
she said.
"We
think the window may have been kicked in because the centre of
the glass has been pushed right through."
She
said Burnham police had been informed of the incident and were
already investigating. Anyone with information should contact
Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The
window was boarded up later on Saturday - as pictured - and the
repairs are expected to cost in the region of £300-£400.
Burnham-On-Sea.com
reported earlier
this month how Sailsbury Florists - further down the High
Street - had suffered a similar attack when a window was smashed
by vandals.
