Burnham-On-Sea
Rotary Club launches Christmas gift collection
Shoppers
at a Highbridge supermarket are being invited to spread a little
Christmas cheer by donating gifts to needy people in the local
area.
Burnham-On-Sea
Rotary Club has this week launched a collection box in the entrance
foyer of Highbridge's Asda supermaket which will enable it to
pass on gifts to
those who are less fortunate in our society.
"This Christmas there will be people within our community
who will have very little or nothing to show that somebody cares,"
explained Rotary President Roy Twining to Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"Our
aim is to bring just a little happiness to those, what ever their
age, with a small gift given by those who care. With the kind
help of Asda, we are collecting at this store from November 17th
to December 15th."
"We are inviting shoppers to place their contributions within
the box provided and these will be collected daily and gift wrapped
for distribution during the week of Christmas."
"The
Club is extremely grateful to the management at Asda for allowing
us carry out this collection."
