Special: 2008 Burnham-On-Sea Smile Walk
Over
30 colourfully dressed walkers strode out for charity when Burnham-On-Sea's
annual Smile Walk took place on Sunday afternoon (June 22nd).
The
popular fancy dress walk started next to the town's jetty and
the walkers made their way along The Esplanade, past the pier,
before returning and taking in the Southern Esplanade to the Sailing
Club and back.
This year's event was accompanied by live jazz music and there
were balloons and refreshments for the participants.
Proceeds
will be going to the Peter Gilliard Memorial School in India and
organiser Becky Saunders told Burnham-On-Sea.com she was pleased
with how the event had gone. "Today's walk has been another
great success, raising plenty of smiles and funds for a good cause,"
she said.
