Brent Knoll Guides visit Berrow-based archery group

Thirty members of Brent Knoll Guides were on target when they visited Berrow's Coastal Archers group this week.

The Guides had chosen archery as their activity to qualify for their Yearly Challenge Badge.

The girls were coached in safety and competition techniques by club coach Dave Marriott, before spending an evening shooting at tournament-style targets with their longbows.

Guide Leader Jane Sinnott told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Each Guide takes part in a community service activity and another activity of their own choice. It is encouraging that 30 had chosen archery - it gives them an additional recreational resource for adult life."

Club coach Dave Marriott added: "All the guides shot well, and several demonstrated natural talent. Club members who attended the evening may well be practising a little more conscientiously in future, as the competition has just got harder!"
