Burnham-On-Sea's
new Carnival Queen and Princesses crowned!
Burnham-On-Sea's
new Carnival Queen and her Princesses have been chosen at a ceremony
in the town on Friday evening (July 31st).
Jessica
Rogers, 15, was selected by the judges to lead this year's carnival
parade as Queen.
She
will be accompanied by her two Princesses, Danielle Hockey and
Bethany May Ellis.
The
event to choose the winners was held at Burnham's Ritz Social
Club and was organised by Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club.
Organisers
said they were pleased with the response to this year's competition,
with six youngsters in the running for Queen and 13 entries for
the role of Princesses.
The
judges were Julie West and Charlie Bird from N-Hance, Anya Burridge
from Purr-fect Pottery, Malcolm Borland from the Highbridge and
Burnham-On-Sea Carnival Association, and Colin Rufus from Burnham
Lions.
The
Queen and Princesses will lead the Carnival Procession on Monday
9th November 2009.
