Burnham-On-Sea
fire crews called to kitchen fire in Watchfield
Fire
crews from Burnham-On-Sea attended a kitchen fire in Watchfield,
near Highbridge, on Thursday morning (July 16th).
On
their arrival at 11.38am, the fire appeared to be out, but after
further investigation the crews found there were still hot spots
from within an oil-fuelled Aga.
"They
extinguished these with a CO2 extinguisher then isolated the fuel
supply and ventilated the property," fire spokesman Paul
Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
"The
cause of the fire is thought to be due to an electrical fault
in the oil pump.
There was 80 per cent damage to the oil pump. Smoke detectors
were fitted and did activate."
