Sky
televises live speedway action from Burnham track for first time

Millions
of TV viewers got the chance to watch live speedway racing from
Burnham-On-Sea's Oak Tree Arena for the first time on Tuesday
evening (April 28th).
A
huge crowd of supporters flocked to the track to watch the first
televised clash at the track, which was shown live on Sky Sports
1.
The
crowd was delighted to see the Somerset Rebels narrowly beat King's
Lynn Stars by 46-44.
Mike
Manning of the team sponsors Mike Manning Audio said: "A
bumper crowd watched a fantastic night of speedway - a terrific
advert for our beloved sport!"
Somerset
Rebels General Manager David Croucher told Burnham-On-Sea.com:
"I
know that on previous occasions, Sky have expressed an interest
in broadcasting from the Oak Tree Arena, and for various reasons,
it hasn't happened. I hope the TV viewing public enjoyed a thrilling
meeting."
"It
is always a great privilege to get on the TV and I sincerely hope
that this meeting is not only a great advert for Somerset and
the set up here at the Oak Tree Arena, but also a great advert
for the Premier League."
