Burnham-On-Sea rescue charity bowled over by group’s donation

-

A Burnham-On-Sea charity has been bowled over with the support of a group of fundraisers from Mark.

Members of Mark Short Mat Bowling Club this week visited the seafront headquarters of BARB, the charity that operates the town’s two rescue hovercraft, to hand over a cheque for £200 towards its ongoing maintenance costs.

The funds were collected from entry fees and a raffle at the club’s bowling tournament held during September.

The club’s Cherrie Cross said: “BARB is an excellent local cause that our members were only too happy to help.”

Mark Short Mat Bowling Club has been running for two years at the village hall and has over 30 players who meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
