Fundraising beach walkers stride out for charity in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Fifty fundraisers pulled on their walking boots to take part in a charity walk from Burnham-On-Sea to Brean Down on Sunday (May 30th).

The weather was breezy, but dry, for the seventh annual Alzheimer’s Society walk, which saw residents walking either 15 miles from Burnham Pier to Brean Down and back or seven miles to Berrow Beach and back.

A shorter walk of approximately two miles to the low lighthouse and back was also available for the less adventurous.

Organiser Mike Barsby told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Our beach walks have been very well supported by people of all ages and abilities, but especially by families that have been touched in some way by the effects of Alzhiemers or Dementia.”
