A Burnham-On-Sea club has been ‘bowled over’ by a £1,250 donation this week.
Burnham Short Mat Bowls Club has received £1,000 from The Somerset Community Fund and £250 from County Councillor John Woodman’s community fund.
“The generous donation will replace four new mat fenders and the club members would like to thank both The Somerset Community Fund and Cllr Woodman for their help and encouragment,” club secretary Malcolm Rawles told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
The club, which has been running since 1998, meets twice a week at St Andrew’s Church Hall. New members and those who would like to try out the sport are welcome to visit the group.
