Plans for 25th Burnham-On-Sea no cold calling zones unveiled

-

Plans to launch Burnham-On-Sea’s 25th ‘no cold calling zone’ in the town have been uneveiled this week.

Neighbourhood Watch organisers, working with police and Trading Standards, plan to expand the coverage into the St Marks area over the next few months.

“The new zone in St Marks Road is being launched following concerns from residents about doorstep callers,” Neighbourhood Watch representative John Alexander (pictured) told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We’d like the no cold calling zones to be introduced right across the town to disuade doorstep callers visiting anywhere in Burnham.”

In March, Burnham-On-Sea.com reported on two new zones being launched in the St Pauls, St Andrews, St Marys, St Johns and Martins Close areas of Burnham. There are currently 24 zones within the Burnham North Beat area.

The zones have been successful in preventing visits of bogus callers and reducing distraction-type burglaries across the town.
