Brean
holiday park raises over £2,000 for Burnham rescue charity

Holidaymakers at a Brean caravan park have this week
handed over a bumper cheque to the charity that runs Burnham-On-Sea's
rescue hovercrafts.
A summer of fundraising at Diamond Farm Holiday Park has raised
£2,275 towards the running costs of BARB (Burnham Area Rescue
Boat).
The
bumper cheque was handed over to the charity's crewmembers at
the campsite on Saturday.
Jayne Collins from the Diamond Farm Fundraisers said: "We
are delighted to have raised such a big sum for BARB, which does
a fantastic job in Brean and Burnham in helping to keep our beaches
safe. It's been a tough year to raise the money given the current
economic climate, so our thanks go to everyone who has helped
us."
The group raised the cash by holding a number of fundraising events
at the holiday park and Brean's Beachcomber Inn.
BARB Chairman Mark Newman thanked the group, saying: "We
are hugely grateful to everyone at Diamond Farm for their fantastic
support, which dates back over many years."
