Burnham-On-Sea police issue burglary warning after homes targeted

Burnham-On-Sea police have this week urged residents to be extra vigilant over the Christmas period after burglars struck twice at the weekend.

Thieves attempted to break into a home in Burnham’s Rosewood Close on Saturday, and in a second incident a property in Bason Bridge was entered.

Inspector Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The window of a house in Rosewood Close was forced and a pane of glass was broken but fortunately they did not gain entry.”

However, a commercial premises in Bason Bridge was attacked by burglars on Sunday. “They forced their way into the premises and entered an office where drawers were searched and keys removed, but nothing was believed to have been taken,” he said.

Police are asking residents in the Burnham and Highbridge area to be extra vigilant and to report any suspicious activity. Burnham Police can be reached by dialling 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
