Hedgehogs and tortoises on show at Secret World this weekend

-

Hedgehogs and tortoises will be in the spotlight during a special event at East Huntspill’s Secret World Wildlife Centre this weekend.

The charity in New Road, East Huntspill, will be open to the public from 10am-4pm on both Saturday (July 30th) and Sunday (July 31st) for its annual Tortoise and Hedgehog Weekend.

“Visitors will be able to find out how to attract hedgehogs to their garden and get the chance to see the animals up close. This is also an opportunity to see tortoises and terrapins – big and small. The British Chelonia Group will also be here with Eric, a giant tortoise weighing in at three stone,” Secret World’s Sara Cowen told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

Refreshments will be available as well as ferret racing, a hedgehog roadshow, a children’s play area and a wildlife facts and tracks tent. There will be no admission charge but Secret World does invite donations towards its work.
