Burnham-On-Sea
rescue charity BARB marks its 20th anniversary

A
Burnham-On-Sea rescue charity has marked its 20th year and the
end of a busy summer with an informal function for current crewmembers
and supporters.
BARB
(Burnham Area Rescue Boat) held the event at Highbridge's Oaktree
Arena on Saturday (November 4th) to thank its volunteers.
During
the evening, the charity's President, Neville Jones, recounted
how the charity was formed two decades ago and how the BBC's Challenge
Anneka programme built its seafront station.
Deputy
Mayor Martin Cox thanked the charity on behalf of the town for
its work.
A
formal function to mark the anniversary is also being planned
for former crewmembers and supporters.
