Weekly charity bike nights to be held in Burnham-On-Sea from May

-

One of the organisers, Dennis Perks, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We are just a few friendly bikers that do lots for charity and support our local emergency services.”

Each biker will make a donation of £1, with every penny going to local charities and a memorial fund set up in memory of Dylan Cecil, the four year-old boy who died in an accidental fall from the town’s jetty last August.

Local groups will be helping with collecting and marshalling the events and further volunteers are welcome to get involved.

Dennis added: “With the backing of Dylan’s family, we were approached to see if we could get a Burnham bike night running in conjunction with a fund set up in memory of the young boy. We are looking to get the events underway and raising money for local good causes.”

The bike nights will start on Tuesday May 7th at 6pm and run each week until Sunday September 1st when a fundraising bike run will be held.

Burnham Town Council gave its backing to the bike nights this week when councillors considered the plans.
