Burnham-On-Sea family did not have home insurance in place
Burnham-On-Sea family whose home was severely damaged by a huge
blaze this week did not have home insurance in place,
leaving them to face a huge repair bill.

homes were evacuated in Quantock Close on Monday (July 8th) when
fire crews were called to tackle the huge blaze shortly after
12.30am which left two homes gutted.
Simon Izard, pictured right, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "Unfortunately,
when we checked our home insurance policy it had only recently
expired and was due to be renewed."

us to help raise cash towards the repair work, which is fantastic."
second home next door was also damaged in the blaze and also needs
to be repaired.
added: "Many of our possessions from the upstairs rooms have
been lost - we've salvaged just a few bags of things so it will
take a long time to get over this."
electrical fault with a fridge freezer in an outbuilding is believed
to have started the fire, which quickly spread to the terrace
roof and upstairs rooms are a mangled mess after the blaze
