plans to build nine new homes in Burnham-On-Sea have been given
a 'thumbs down' by town councillors.

been submitted to Sedgemoor District Council.
members of the Town Council's Planning Applications Committee
(pictured at their latest meeting) have raised a number of concerns
about the bid for outline planning permission.
Andy Brewer said: "I have concerns about this would be an
over-development of a small site and also have safety concerns
about the narrow entrance onto Berrow Road which could be dangerous."
Helen Groves added: "Each property is likely to have an average
of two vehicles which would create a high number of total vehicles
on the site given the access onto Berrow Road."
Cllr Bill Hancock told the committee's meeting: "I think
this is a perfect development - I can't see any problem. There
are many residential houses in the area so I can't see why this
would be an over-development."
voted in favour of objecting against the scheme, however the final
decision rests with Sedgemoor District Council.
