walkers complete annual fundraising Memory Walk at Brean
170 people pulled on their walking boots to take part in a fundraising
walk at Brean on Sunday.
annual Memory Walk was held in aid of Alzheimers Society
and was started by children's TV star Sooty at Brean Leisure Park.

the event had been a great success with the final amount raised
raised £9,000 from this event last year and hope to have
exceeded that amount this time thanks to everyone's wonderful
support," she said.
walkers set off on a route which took them over the sand dunes
onto the beach and then to the top of Brean Down and back.

Tracey Grobbeler, who recently lost her father to Alzheimers.

Societys Memory Walk, in partnership with Bupa Care Homes,
is a series of fundraising walking events that take place across
England, Wales and Northern Ireland every September, raising money
to provide vital support to people living with dementia and help
research to find a cure.
The walkers strode along the beach to Brean Down in perfect walking
shorter route around Brean Leisure Park was also available. On
return to Brean Leisure Park, the walkers enjoyed refreshments
at Brean Tavern.
