seeks new lifeguards in Burnham-On-Sea for summer season
RNLI is looking for new lifeguards to join its team in Burnham-On-Sea
organisation provides lifeguard cover on local beaches over the
summer and is now looking to recruit new lifeguards for this season.
is open and applications are being sought. In 2014, lifeguards
on these beaches dealt with 57 incidents and assisted 66 people.
will need to prove they are courageous, selfless, trustworthy
and dependable to make the grade and be selected.
many may think lifeguarding is all about rescues in the water,
95 per cent of the role is preventative, with lifeguards offering
beachgoers helpful advice including tide times and any potential
hazards to avoid, ensuring everybody has a safe and enjoyable
day at the beach.
Sellick, RNLI lifeguard supervisor, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "This
is a great opportunity for people wishing to get into lifeguarding
and looking for an exciting and challenging job this summer. Working
as a lifeguard is fantastically rewarding. Of course its
incredible to be able to call the beach your office but far more
importantly than that, you could save a life and make a difference."
RNLI provides extensive training and the skills youll learn
will benefit you for the rest of your life. Lifeguarding is also
a demanding job requiring commitment, skill and a clear head.
We want people with the courage, determination and good sense
to draw on their training and make the right decision if someones
life is in danger."
RNLI is looking for individuals who possess an internationally
recognised beach lifeguard qualification. Individuals must have
a high level of fitness and be a strong swimmer. The minimum entry
age is 16.
