is set to begin on building a grass bank around Berrow Village Green
with the aim of reducing the likelihood that travellers will set
up camp there.
Parish Council said this week it has placed a contract with a local
company to start the work on building the bank during March. It
comes after travellers set up camp on the Green last summer, as
Lynn Smith told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "At its meeting on 13th
February 2017, Berrow Parish Council considered the quotations received
for the installation of the bank along the front of Berrow Village
Green and agreed to accept the quotation from JD Pope & Sons
meeting was held with a representative from JD Pope this week on
site when we were advised that this work would be started within
2 3 weeks and would take approximately 1 2 weeks to
this time, there may be instances where sections of the pavement
alongside the Green may be inaccessible and we apologise for any
inconvenience this may cause."
