Burnham-On-Sea crash: Young cyclist injured in collision with car

A young boy is recovering in hospital following a serious accident in Burnham-On-Sea yesterday (Tuesday).

Police shut Ben Travers Way for over two hours while their investigation into the collision near Wilde Close got underway, as pictured.

Police spokesman Scott McPherson told Burnham-On-Sea.com: "We were called to a serious collision near the junction with Wilde Close at around 3.30pm where a car had collided with a cyclist."

"A young boy suffered head and leg injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening - he was taken by land ambulance to Bristol Children's Hospital."

"The driver stayed at the scene and is helping our investigation."

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call Burnham-On-Sea Police via 101.
