Police say Burnham-On-Sea sudden death is 'not suspicious'

Police say the 'sudden death' of a man in Burnham-On-Sea this week is not being treated as suspicious.

An air ambulance landed in the town on Wednesday night (February 21st) and paramedics atempted to save a patient, alongside ambulance crews, following a 'medical incident'.

The yellow Devon and Somerset air ambulance made a rarely-seen night-time landing in a field next to Ben Travers Way, near Burnham-On-Sea's Tesco store, as pictured here.

The helicopter's paramedics assisted the ground ambulance staff in trying to save the patient, with two ambulances seen in Queens Drive. Sadly, however, the air ambulance took off without a patient at 9.10pm.

Police spokesman Sam Malone told "We were called to reports of a sudden death of a man aged in his 60s at around 8.45pm. The matter has been referred to the coroner, and the death is not being treated as suspicious." Sympathies have been expressed to the family.
