Car sunroof smashed as object is dropped from M5 bridge at Burnham

The sunroof of a car was smashed when an object appeared to have been dropped from an M5 motorway bridge at Burnham-On-Sea on Thursday evening (September 13th).

Motorist Paige Millerchip said on social media: "Just want to make people aware. Me and my family were driving down to Torquay around 8.45pm. As we drove past junction 22 for Burnham we reached the bridge where we noticed a white van stopped and within seconds something hit my sunroof and it exploded."

"Thankfully we are all OK, and it wasn’t more serious. It makes me sick that people get a kick out of things like this - the police have been informed."

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Burnham Police on 101.
