Burnham-On-Sea charity walking group raises hundreds of pounds for good causes

-

Members of a new Charity Walking Club in Burnham-On-Sea are raising hundreds of pounds for local good causes while promoting healthy lifestyles.

The group of local walkers, led by Personal Coach Sonny Topham, meet every week to walk together for fitness.

Each of the walkers pays a £2 donation to a specific local cause or charity at the start of the one-hour long three-mile walk.

Almost £300 has been raised so far since the group started in the autumn for children’s charity ‘Help the Child’, Highbridge Open Community who provide a food bank service, and Burnham-based mental health charity In Charley’s Memory.

Sonny said: “Thanks so much to everyone who has taken part so far… it’s been great meeting new people, getting active, whilst doing a good thing to help those who need it at the same time.”

The group meets every Thursday evening, starting at 6.20pm from outside different pubs in the area, meeting next week at The Lighthouse Pub in Burnham. See the Sonny Topham Personal Coaching Facebook page for more details.
