Crews stood down in search for missing person in Burnham-On-Sea

-

Volunteers from Burnham-On-Sea’s BARB Search & Rescue were called out on Monday evening (October 2nd) to search for a missing person in the town.

A teenager was reported missing and Police tasked the BARB team with searching the Esplanade and beach.

“Our volunteers were called out at 9.31pm by Avon and Somerset Police after reports of a missing person in Burnham-On-Sea,” said a spokesman.

“The teenager had gone missing from a property near the seafront and officers tasked BARB’s volunteers with conducting a search of the seafront and beach.”

“As our crewmembers were putting on their kit at BARB’s hovercraft station, we received the good news from the Police that the missing person had been found safe and well. No further action was required and our crews were stood down.”

“BARB gets called out to many searches for missing people through the year and our crews have specific training for this very purpose.”
