Burnham’s Hillview Carnival Club scoops awards at town carnival

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club clinched several awards at their home town carnival last night (Monday).

The club’s space-themed float is called ‘Reach 4 The Stars’ and impressed the judges with its giant planets, stars and space equipment.

The entry attracted cheers from the large crowds along the route in Burnham and earned second place overall in the juvenile category behind Marina Sydenham.

Hillview also won the award for ‘best local entry’ and ‘most outstanding local costumes’, and the club also picked up the Chairman’s Choice award for best local entry.

Hillview Chariman Duncan Britton told Burnham-On-Sea.com after Monday’s Burnham Carnival: “It was a very successful evening and I’d like to thank all the local people for really getting behind us this year.”

“We had a lot of very warm support along the carnival route. The support has been superb and all the hard work has paid off.”
