Dozens attend Highbridge forum to hear parliamentary visitor

-

Over 30 local people and representatives from local groups attended a Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge Community Forum at Morland Community Hall in Highbridge on Tuesday (January 18th).

The audience heard Naomi Kent, a Parliamentary Outreach Officer, discuss how the debates and decisions in the House of Commons and House of Lords are so relevant to life in the Burnham area.

The forum was lively and interactive, ending with a political quiz and a question-and-answer session.

Among those present were Richard Mathews from Sedgemoor Community Partnership, Sue Quatermass from Mendip and Sedgemoor Community Support, Highbridge councillor Joe Leach, and Alison Hoare from Age UK Projects.

The event was organised by Mendip and Sedgemoor Community Support as part of its ongoing community forums held in Burnham and Highbridge.

The forums provide an opportunity for local people to come together to learn from and support each other, and to hear inspiring speakers.
